Hi! I’m Synara Dsouza

I’m a filmmaker, born and raised in Mumbai. I graduated with a Master of Arts in Media Studies at the Parsons School of Design (The New School), New York. I love visual storytelling. It's what led me down the path of becoming a cinematographer and editor, though it all started 7 years ago with photography, a passion I still carry with me. There's something magical about being behind the camera, where my technical side meets my creative, aesthetic side. My personality changes with every character I meet, on screen or off screen, but what has never changed for me is the joy of filmmaking. I believe the best stories come from real people and the spaces they call home. Growing up in Bombay’s energy and having spent my early 20s in NYC, shaped how I see the world, and I'm always thinking about how everyone carries stories worth telling. I want to make visuals that don't just look good, but actually make people feel good.
